New EPC
The open consultation 'Improving the energy performance of privately rented homes: consultation document' published 7 February 2025 refers to 'New EPCs’ or new Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) as '‘EPCs post-EPC reform which, as proposed by the consultation on ‘Reform to the Energy Performance of Buildings Regime’, score energy performance against new metrics calculated using the Home Energy Model (HEM).'
On the other hand it refers to existing EPCs as 'EPCs commissioned before EPC reform which display the Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) as the headline metric for scoring energy performance calculated using the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP).'
